Guidelines on Rolling Roadblocks for Work Zone Applications

This guideline outlines a suggested process for planning and executing a rolling roadblock for temporary traffic control applications, including the decision-making process on when to use this technique. The rolling roadblock is a practice that can be used to close all lanes of traffic with pacing vehicles to create a gap that construction activities can be performed. A checklist is also included in the guide and outlines roles and responsibilities for each stakeholder involved to enhance communication and coordination and ensure safety for workers and motorists.
