How to Deal with Invasive Species...Without Making them Worse
June 13, 2023 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM WVDOH-D6 Headquarters - 1 DOT Drive Moundsville, WV 26041
Overview
Rapid growth of invasive species can lead to poor visibility, slips and increased workloads. Public works employees have been fighting invasive species for a long time, yet, mowing or cutting alone can make them worse as they easily spread by seed, root suckers, and even plant parts. Not only is using the right chemical important, timing is also critical to control these nuisance plants. This class will discuss how to correctly identify and how to properly treat several invasive species. Preventative techniques to reduce the spread and keep less problematic species in the landscape will also be discussed.
