About the Event

Overview

This class provides a review of the different types and causes of common distresses found in asphalt pavements, including potholes, rutting, corrugations, alligator cracking, etc. Attendees will learn about proven treatment and repair methods, procedures, materials, and equipment that should be used in making lasting repairs. Attendees will also learn about the importance of preventive maintenance treatments.

Objectives

Upon completion of the class, attendees should be able to:

  • Recognize types and causes of common distresses in asphalt pavements
  • Have a basic understanding of proven treatment procedures for asphalt pavements
  • Understand the importance of preventive maintenance treatments and what is involved

Audience

This class should be of interest to maintenance workers, supervisors, elected/appointed officials, and others responsible for overseeing or maintaining roads.
