Load Securement

Proper load securement is vital in the day-to-day operations of public works departments. This course is designed to provide a basic introduction to load securement and the inspection of load securement devices that are used. Participants will become familiar with proper securement techniques and devices that they will be using on a daily basis, through both classroom and hands-on teaching.


OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the class, attendees should be able to:

  • Understand what load securement is and why it is important

  • Select the proper tie down devices

  • Inspect the tie down devices and the trailer

  • Understand loading, walk around, and unloading


AUDIENCE

This class should be of interest to anyone that operates or works around heavy equipment. 



Hands-on Heavy Equipment Training

This hands‑on training provides equipment operators with practical, field‑ready skills for safely and effectively operating the heavy equipment they use on a regular basis. Participants learn through a classroom presentations followed by direct one-on-one equipment time with guided practice and real‑world scenarios that mirror typical roadway and maintenance operations. The course emphasizes safety, pre‑operation inspections, control mastery, situational awareness, and proper operating techniques aligned with agency standards and industry best practices.


OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the class, attendees should be able to:

  • Perform pre‑operation inspections

  • Demonstrate safe startup & shutdown

  • Execute basic maneuvers 

  • Recognize equipment limitations


AUDIENCE

Equipment operators, new and experienced, can learn from our experienced heavy equipment trainer..
