West Virginia Local Technical Assistance Program

Rodney Taylor joined the WV LTAP as our new part-time heavy equipment training after retiring from the West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) in January 2026. During his time with the WVDOH, Rodney was a frequent guest instructor for WV LTAP, sharing decades of industry experience with local transportation agencies. In his role as our heavy equipment trainer, he travels throughout West Virginia delivering equipment training that combines classroom instruction, practical field exercises, and scenario-based learning to improve situational awareness, safety, and compliance with OSHA and industry standards.

At the end of the day, Rodney takes pride in knowing that even small improvements can make a difference. Helping others develop their skills is one of the most rewarding aspects of training, and in his new role with WV LTAP, he looks forward to continuing to support equipment operators across West Virginia.
