Work Zone Traffic Control
OVERVIEW
This class provides a review of work zone standards, including the WV Manual on Temporary Traffic Control for Streets and Highways. Traffic control devices, the different parts and areas of a work zone, typical applications, and flagging operations are covered. This class includes a "hands-on" game-board exercise that provides attendees with the opportunity to set-up proper work zones for various scenarios.
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the class, attendees should be able to:
Recognize the need for traffic control
Explain the fundamental principles of work zones
Be able to identify methods to prevent crashes in work zones
AUDIENCE
This class should be of interest to maintenance workers, supervisors, work zone inspectors, and safety personnel who are responsible for overseeing, setting up, and/or working in work zones.
