Flagger Certification (ATSSA)
Flaggers are the first line of defense when it comes to the safety of workers, motorists, and pedestrians in a work zone; they operate as the de facto safety officer on many work crews. This course will train you to be a competent flagger, set up a proper work zone, and control traffic.
Upon completion of the class, attendees should be able to:
Understand why proper flagging is important
Understand the abilities of a good flagger
Understand how to use the MUTCD Part 6 and other references
Know proper flagging signals and procedures
Know flagging practices at typical situations
This class should be of interest to maintenance workers that flag or work in or near a work zone, supervisors, work zone inspectors, and safety personnel who are responsible for overseeing, setting up, and/or working in work zones.
