Working with People/Successful Supervision

OVERVIEW


This class introduces basic concepts of supervision and leadership to improve relationships with workers, while getting the job done. Topics include fundamentals of leadership, communicating with others, team building, motivating people, working with difficult people, problem solving, and decision making.



OBJECTIVES


Upon completion of this class, attendees should be able to:

  • Go beyond supervising to leading

  • Understand characteristics of successful leaders

  • Recognize different styles of supervision

  • Change unproductive behaviors

  • Implement a culture of trust through effective
    communication

  • Manage and foster effective teams


AUDIENCE


This class should be of interest to employees, supervisors, and anyone who works with others or is responsible for leading a group.
